University of the Ozarks Theatre will present its first production of the 2013 Spring Semester, "Good Boys and True," during a three-night performance Feb. 28, March 1 and March 2.
The production, which contains adult language and sexual themes, will be held in the Walton Fine Arts Center's Black Box Theatre. The box office opens at 6:30 each evening of the performance and the house opens at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and seating is limited. ?Advanced tickets may be purchased online at http://www.ozarks.edu/theatre.
Written by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, Good Boys and True is a powerful story that addresses troubling moral questions of our youth in a suspenseful and engrossing drama. The story takes place in 1988 and revolves around prep-school senior Brandon Hardy, a brilliant, athletic, popular and charming?the kind of student that makes St. Joe's School for Boys proud to call its own. However, his privileged life threatens to collapse when a disturbing videotape is found on campus. As the resulting scandal takes unexpected turns, Brandon's mother, Elizabeth, must sort fact from fiction from family and confront unsettling truths about her son, herself, and their life.

The play is directed by U of O Professor of Theater Bruce B. Brown. Brown is also the set designer. Tori Rhein is the production's stage manager and Catalina Ruiz serves as assistant stage manager. Other members of the crew include, A.M. Nystrom as assistant scenic designer, Clayton Becker as light designer, Justin L. Hughes as costume designer, Katelyn G. Nichols as sound designer, and Kincaid McMinn as graphic designer.
Cast members include, Darrick Conroy as Brandon Hardy, Jacqueline J. Jurcik as Elizabeth Hardy, Utah Robertson as Coach Russell Shea, Lauren Charters as Maddy Emerson, David Pluebell as Justin Simmons, and Isabella Clark as Cheryl Moody.
