Yep. Cora?s, which is a homegrown breakfast chain, charges extra for real maple syrup, but most places don?t even have it ? they just serve Aunt Jemima-style table syrup. Maple syrup is very expensive, and people tend to slather it on because it isn?t as sweet as the HFCS-based syrups. I usually just skip stuff that traditionally would take maple syrup, if we?re out ? it?s just not the same. (Though we?ve often joked about bringing our own. ;)
