Vote Penn State For NCAA Football 13 Game Cover

The cover photo for the legendary EA Sports video game series NCAA Football is always a popular topic. Previous covers include Robert Griffin III, Tim Tebow, Reggie Bush, and even Mark Sanchez (lol). But this year, EA Sports is doing things a little differently. Rather than feature an individual player, the video game empire will feature an entire team on the cover based on a fan vote ? and all 126 BCS schools have a chance.

EA Sports put together a trailer for the cover vote. If it doesn?t get you fired up, I don?t know what will. Check it out:

You can vote for Penn State here. As of publishing time, Penn State had 705 votes, which was relatively high but dwarfed by the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who have?4,771 votes and currently lead. The voting will end on December 31st.

But apparently, there are other ways to get your favorite team on the cover besides voting. Its a bit confusing, so I?ll let EA Sports explain it:

?In addition to the main polls, there will be plenty of other ways fans can support their favorite team and push them into the round of 32. Throughout the month we?ll be showcasing specific rivalries, conferences, traditions, and college football legends, and every single fan interaction counts as a vote. Liking posts, sharing stories with friends, voting on rivalries and leaving comments all count as supporting your school; so be loud, be proud and make yourself heard. We?ll also be providing regular updates throughout the process so you?ll know exactly where your team stands and what you need to do to make sure they advance into the next round.

Don?t forget, fanhood extends beyond just voting. True fans are encouraged to come up with creative ways to represent their team. Impassioned tweets using the hashtag #NCAACoverVote, Instagram photos of campus landmarks, YouTube videos of university traditions and more will all count toward a school?s chances to advance to the next round. In short, fans are encouraged to go all in and represent the team they root for every Saturday!?

These types of contests are usually strongly swayed by how well the vote is marketed and publicized at each individual school. Penn State is going to have a chance to make a comeback and get blue-and-white on the millions of copies of NCAA Football 13 that will be sold when the game is released in July. Share the link to this post or the vote and make sure that every Penn State student, fan, alumni, and supporter gets out the vote.

At least the NCAA didn?t?implement?a video game cover ban, right?
